Creativity Challenge Day 3

Creativity Challenge 3

The Challenge here is to use your creative talent to bring light into the current distress in the world around you, in whatever form that talent takes. Please remember that we are reaching out to a world that is facing upheaval and possibly a great number of changes. Let us reach out to that world and bring it the lessons we have learned by becoming artists and writers.  You may use images, photos, music, poetry, prose, short story fiction, personal essay, or whatever suits you best. I will post one word a day, adding a few of my own thoughts about the word. The rest is up to you. You may post as many times as you like, and may use old or new pieces, as you choose. When you have finished creating your post, return here and leave the URL in the comments section below. Then post it to whatever social media you are involved with. If you are not connected to some form of social media, consider joining one now. If not, say so when you post, and I will attempt to post it on mine, which is Facebook.

Word for Today

The action of love is acceptance. Acceptance of human imperfection, and flaws in both thought and deed. Each of us responds through the filter of our past experiences. And each of us has different experiences. Yes, there are often similarities, but no two of them are exactly the same. The direct opposite of acceptance is rejection. Each one of us draws the line between those two realities in different places. Acceptance is also a means of diminishing fear. One is far more apt to be heard if speaking in a calm, clear, and reasonable tone. What do you, will you, accept, and where do you draw the line?

Okay, I just screwed up royally. Posted my poem on this site rather than on my poetry blog. My apologies, tired mind, sore back, both in need of a nap.

I’m going to try to write a poem about acceptance in the positive way you have defined it. In the past, my poems fight against acceptance as a passive non-engagement–except for one, the first one here: “Living Faith”
and here’s another: “After the Revival”
and, finally, a very dense poem: “The Play’s the Thing”
(I certainly don’t expect anyone to check out all of these.)
