NaPoWriMo: Day 20

NaPoWriMo: Day 20

divided-heart-2

Doubling the words today. From Brenda’s Six for Wednesday taken from a poem by Sherman Alexis: I Would Steal Horses.

Brenda’s word list may be found here: https://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/

strips, tight, drums, grave, signs, shattering

Mine from the musical inspiration for today:

wild, easy, graceless, hands, same, unkind

Suggestions: Use one or two, or more of the words from either or both of the selections. Maybe try using all of them? Whatever you decide please think of posting at both sites.

Musical Inspiration:

Image is a digital painting I did by playing with colors and trying out different effects on my paint program. Was amazed to find horses in the colors.

I’ll post the quick spill of words your six prompted upon sight, Elizabeth…we’ll see if I come back with something a little more refined…

    EASY HIT AND RUN

    Wild, graceless
    lovemaking; hands grasp
    with the same
    urgency.
    Sated sexual desires;
    unkind departure.

Sorry Paula, but this made me laugh out loud on first reading. Don’t know if it was the title, or that block heavy ending. Whatever, I really like your quickie, lol,

Often times “wordles” play out like a mini-movie in my mind when I read the list. It’s like a flash of a scene, all at once. Then I write something to go with the scene depicted in my mind’s eye. The scene that flashed when I read this list of words was far from something that would have generated a laugh (out loud, or otherwise). My original title was “Hit and Run” — then I added “easy” when it didn’t work its way into the poem itself. I do think adding it lent itself to a different tone than was my original intent. Regardless, I’m glad you liked it.
