Creativity Challenge 24
The Challenge here is to use your creative talent to bring light into the current distress in the world around you, in whatever form that talent takes. Please remember that we are reaching out to a world that is facing upheaval and possibly a great number of changes. Let us reach out to that world and bring it the lessons we have learned by becoming artists and writers. You may use images, photos, music, poetry, prose, short story fiction, personal essay, or whatever suits you best. I will post one word a day, adding a few of my own thoughts about the word. The rest is up to you. You may post as many times as you like, and may use old or new pieces, as you choose. When you have finished creating your post, return here and leave the URL in the comments section below. Then post it to whatever social media you are involved with. If you are not connected to some form of social media, consider joining one now. If not, say so when you post, and I will attempt to post it on mine, which is Facebook.
Word for Today
Shadow
A dark figure cast when light is intercepted by another solid object. A trace or slight definition. Sometimes used in reference to ghosts. The darker or unknown aspect of the human psyche. Something small can cast a really large shadow, depending on where it stands in the light’s reflection. Shadows seldom have much real or solid substance, yet they can cause a great deal of fear. Where, or to whom or what, do you turn to find light in the shadows? What are your experiences with shadows? Have you ever tried making friends with the darker side of your own personality? Where do you find shadows in our current reality? Do you have a light you can switch on, or a lesson you have learned about shadows and their purpose, or meaning?

Elizabeth Ma’am,
A twiglet as explained by Miskey (Marlyn B)
“A twiglet is a short phrase. Or a word. Maybe two. Its aim is to “prompt” a flow. A thought. A memory. If something comes to mind, write. A polished piece isn’t the goal; creativity is”

Hank likes the idea as one can have the luxury of expectations with just a word or two. But Hank chose more still it does not invalidate the intentions!

Thanks so much for the explanation, Hank. Sounds like what I do after choosing the word for the day. Just write what comes to mind. Come to think about it, many of my poems have come about from the same sort of process.
