NaPoWriMo: Day 9
Because it’s my birthday today, I’m going to offer you some leeway. The subject is Mercy, and we will begin with the dictionary definition of that word.
1.compassionate or kindly forbearance shown toward an offender, an enemy, or other person in one’s power; compassion, pity, or benevolence
2. the disposition to be compassionate or forbearing
3. the discretionary power of a judge to pardon someone or to mitigate punishment, especially to send to prison rather than invoke the death penalty.
4. an act of kindness, compassion, or favor
5. something that gives evidence of divine favor; blessing
Words: mercy, street, forgiveness, seams, empty, smooth
Suggestions: You can use the words, some of them, or not. Is there a particular place you go when seeking mercy? An individual, place, of shelter, or peace? Maybe write about an incident when you gave or received mercy.
Musical Inspiration:
Okay, for those who have a need to know, I’m 70 years old today. And yes, definitely in need of mercy. The image is a digital painting. Was playing with the colors and started seeing the outline of the butterfly, so sketched it in.
Happy birthday!!!! 😀

I’d like to thank all of you for the well-wishes. A really good day. My sister made a cake, one I suggested and she tried in blind faith…a raspberry sort of torte bundt cake. Yummy…And thanks for all the postings, it was so much fun seeing what you did with the prompt. Get ready for the Sunday Smorgasbord tomorrow…
