NaPoWriMo: Day 8

NaPoWriMo: Day 8

In need of a break today?

Here’s my suggestion: Find an old poem, one you wrote some time ago. A favorite that you return to on occasion. Rework it, or leave as is. Find an image to accompany it, and, or a piece of music as well. Post it here and then relax. We’ll get back to the words tomorrow. This one is for me as well as you.

In need of a break? I sure am, since I have managed 3 poems in 7 days. Ha ha ha! I have my journal in a complete mess with 4 unfinished poems. Words, sentences and ideas all jumbled up. I am trying to straighten them out, because I would like to complete them, so this gives me an opportunity to do just that. Thanks, Elizabeth. I know which poem I am going to post. It was written back in ’11.

Maybe we’ve been doing NaPo too many times? It is stressful, and I’m making this all up as we go. Needed the break as much as anyone. Still glad to see you here,

  2. I love your peaceful picture. I’ve given up on Napo, finding myself too stressed for comfort. Now I’m doing my own thing, the words are coming….

Oh Viv, I’d be the last one to argue with doing your own thing. Hats off to you for taking care of you. Please know you are always welcome if you so choose. Hugs,

Thank you, Elizabeth. I didn’t really do anything to this piece, but had a couple of periods. I wrote this back in ’11. It seems like yesterday.

Serendipity! I haven’t been going to Poetic Asides for prompts this year…but I woke up in the early morning hours (with a sick kitty, but that’s another story)…and while being wide awake but not wanting to get up yet, I decided to use my phone to look at today’s prompt over there. I ended up writing a short little response (no surprise there on “short”–my favorite length!) and posted it there (not on my blog). Later as I was getting ready for work I was wishing I could have posted a picture with it, and made a mental note to remember to look for one someday. Well…here we are a bit later in the day and when I was working on getting caught up with posting what I’ve written and actually got to today’s prompt, your “break” prompt was like the string around my finger telling me to go look for that picture! So…I did. THANKS!! 🙂 Here’s the pairing:

Really like what you did with your short response. Very creative Paula,
