Through
slightly opened window,
hear cawing
of a single crow.
In my mind,
see him bouncing
on a tree branch,
pushing out his sound
in hopes
of being heard.

Oh I so love the image in my mind of Mr Crow that you set up, Elizabeth…”in hopes of being heard”….especially now when food is getting scarcer. We have so many birds in our yard now, two feeders going, at least two large yogurt containers of seed a day, often four. Wow. I am thrilled, as I love the birds:)

When I’m gardening in the Summer there is always a crow about that seems to sit directly across from my yard on a pole squawking at me in an attempt to get my attention and it is diffiult not to give it to him, that’s for sure.
