Photo Stone #4

Great Blue Heron
glides silently
over waters
of the bay,
unaware
that she pulls
the eye
to follow
smooth swooping
movement
of her wings.

Blue Herons used to rest upon my deck, when we lived by the bay.
Blue Heron was the name of our street, where we lived. I never knew if they were resting, or if they came to spy upon me? Nice memories for me! Loved your post.

  4. Oh I so love watching herons fly. Beautiful photo which takes me back to all the herons I have watched fly over my head, like skinny matrons clutching their pocketbooks under a stiff wing. Which I actually wrote in an old poem I have somewhere or other. Beautiful, Elizabeth. I long to stand on that very shore and watch.

Thanks Sherry. Herons are a symbol of fierce self-reliance and determination. I count it a blessing when they appear,
