For A River of Stones: One Daily Observation
http://ariverofstones.blogspot.com/p/join-us.html

Drove meandrous route
to mouth of river,
where morning haze
lifted slowly.
Was gifted
for my efforts
with Pelican feather,
still holding its promise
of buoyancy.

I’ve been intrigued with the Pelicans for months now, since finding them at the mouth of the river. This is the first feather I have found in numerous visits. Was elated and thanks Susannah,

It felt like a reward for my efforts in the morning heat, and for the numerous visits I’ve made to just see these awesome creatures. Thanks Earlybird, and yes it was a happy moment,

Thanks Annell and I agree, it made the moment more real and gave it deeper meaning. That sense of being in the right place, doing the right thing, always feels so startling somehow,
