Wordplay #12 Labanotation

la-ba-no-ta-tion> written record of dance movements: a method
notating dance movements in detail, including the placement of the
dancer’s body, direction of movement, tempo, and dynamics.

Each draft of each poem is a dance
of pen across paper, a labanotation
marking movement toward a particular
destination, measuring sound, rhythm
of words, matter of motion only hoping
to find completion.

  2. This is quite wonderful. I love the idea that poetry is a dance of pen across paper. Lovely.

  3. I am thinking the destination is the lifeline we seek. Marking the depth, the labanotation of our movements.
