Wordplay #9  Idiolect

id-i-o-lect> dialect of individual: an individual person’s
vocabulary and unique way of using language.

The idiolect of a painter is often referred to as his/her
signature stroke, the unique manner is which that individual
applies paint to a canvas. Likewise, a writer’s signature stroke
is defined as his/her voice.

  1. An interesting word, and apt description, Elizabeth. Your voice is distinctly yours, and a wonderfully wise one:)
