Journey Stone #10  Assertive

Quiet steady confidence
to speak truth without
the need to angrily
shove what is believed
down anyone else’s throat.

  1. Perhaps it is best to let Anger rest. Who needs him after all? And if there is another who is angrily shoving stuff at you, walk on by, don’t give him the time of day!

Annell, the whole point of being assertive is so that anger doesn’t rule. Everyday little things encourage anger, and if denied, it can do much damage. Assertiveness is simply a means of expressing those feelings in a constructive manner. It doesn’t deny the anger but uses the energy flow in a constructive, and many times, creative fashion.

I would agree, we see and hear about way too many angry people, who do damage to themselves and others, perhaps because they have not found an outlet for that energy flow.
